Bug and Pup

Another practice project working on anatomy. The game with this one was to build a figure without using any models or copying photos etc, just relying on knowledge of how the muscles fit together. 

These are some mannikins doing wushu.  I've been reading up on figure drawing lately.  Top one is mid jump with a broad sword. Bottom one is empty stance with a southern sword. Yes i did just take the first two photos from a google search for "wushu".

It's a cloud! Trying a more illustrative pseudo water color thing again here. This cloud is piece of a larger project.

Pen and ink studies of german shepherd pups, in preparation for later scenes in Seedling.

Another digital watercolor study. 

Managed to get crisper edges this time with nicer shadow effect from using multiply. Still using the healing tool to blur areas where i wanted the paint to blend together and its working out well enough. 

Playing around with trying to get the soft blending that watercolors have.

Seems like low opacity and a soft brush with wet edges work best. The healing tool is also pretty helpful. I'll have to try out some other tutorials as well next week.
